Dear CWC Silver Lake families and staff,

We did it! CWC Silver Lakes's charter was approved last night by the LAUSD Board for another 5 years. Our school can now operate through June of 2022.

We are so proud of everyone’s contributions to this effort. Please join us in thanking our staff for all that they do. They are incredible educators, supporters and champions for all students and families. Thank you as well to our families and broader community for sending emails, making phone calls and showing up at the LAUSD Board meeting yesterday evening. These efforts made a huge difference. We also give special thanks to our team of dynamic and inspiring speakers: Kate McCracken, Brandi Sellers-Jackson, Ramon Tapales, Shana Bawek, and our 6th grade student speaker Nathaniel Levander.

Finally, thank you to the entire LAUSD Board for saying YES!

With much gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead,

Ramona Patrick, Founding Co-Principal, TK-5th grade
Cassia Sonderleiter, Founding Co-Principal, 6-8th grade
Mark Kleger-Heine, CWC LA Executive Director
