Kristina Orlovsky

Art Teacher

Kristina has been an arts educator at Citizens of the World Middle School since its very first year.  Teaching art at CWC gives Kristina the opportunity to align her career goals with her morals and beliefs in humanity; benefiting the youth with a creative outlet that teaches them how to start a goal-oriented process through patience, practice, and a sense of mastery or accomplishment.

In addition to her work teaching art, Kristina serves the community with workshops in the summer, and still engineers packaging for graphic design clients. Kristina recently became certified to facilitate creative expression, which uses a foundation of evidence-based curriculum for social-emotional skill building and measuring through the creative process.

A Colorado native, Kristina loves walking through nature with her dogs, particularly near lakes, rivers, the beach, or waterfalls. Kristina practices illustration with micron pens, with watercolor pencil/paint as her favorite art medium to work with, she often makes mixed media art with items from nature, magazine collage, and also dabbles with acrylic paint. Kristina’s family is deeply rooted in the art world.  Her mother worked in it for 15 years, while her father is an incredible expressive painter, and her oldest brother travels the world selling famous contemporary artists’ work such as Jeff Koons and Anish Kapoor.

Kristina earned her BA in Fine Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design and Printmaking from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
