Born and raised in Pasadena, Grace always dreamed of becoming a teacher, and has worked with children since a young age. From camp counselor, summer school teacher, outdoor educator, and teacher’s aide, Grace has worked with children in elementary, middle, and high school. She graduated from Whitman College with a B.A. in Psychology, and after returning to Los Angeles, she began teaching at a private school in Pasadena.
Grace’s passion for teaching young children and the pursuit of creating an equitable education for all students led her to pursue her teaching credential and M.Ed at Claremont Graduate University. During her grad program, she worked as a kindergarten teacher at a charter school in Los Angeles. Teaching through a social justice lens, Grace is passionate about creating an inclusive classroom where all students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and develop a passion for life-long learning.
Outside of the classroom, Grace loves spending her time in nature whether she is hiking, biking, or backpacking. If she isn’t outside exploring, Grace is spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, doing ceramics, or reading a good book!
