The design of our elementary school facility embeds the core values of the school through the use of transparency, vegetation, natural patterns, mission-aligned language and a diversity of shape, form and color. All of this will create a peaceful and joyful learning environment and bring our program and community to new heights!
For more information, the presentation from the Jan. 9th unveiling is available here!

The site will be developed in two phases. Phase I will focus on the rehabilitation and reuse of the building and lunch area. Phase II will renovate the exterior spaces, including new play areas, a basketball court, a new drop-off zone and landscaping.
Phase I (Spring 2019)
The main entrance to the school is situated off of Coronado Street at the rear of the existing building. This day-to-day entrance will be used for drop-off, pick-up and pedestrian entry to the school. This terrace will also house the lunch area. Due to its location on the north side of the building, this zone will almost always benefit from shade. The front yard along Beverly Boulevard will also be fenced off for privacy and occasional playtime use.
Phase II (Timeline TBD, based on fundraising and City approvals)
In Phase II, new outside play spaces and landscaped areas will be created. The site will be graded, giving way to a large multi-use space that will incorporate basketball, hopscotch, four-square and other playtime activities. A triangular area near the building will be padded and house a play structure for younger students. Trees and planting areas, featuring native plant species, will be introduced throughout the site, which will help treat and retain on-site rainwater.
The fenced-in front yard play terrace will also be enhanced along Beverly Boulevard. This area will be landscaped with trees, climbing plants and areas to use as an urban garden and/or art room breakout space.
